AT POMPEII - MCMLXXII PINK FLOYD
Pink Floyd at Pompeii – MCMLXXII is a live album by the British rock band Pink Floyd released in 2025 and containing the recording of the concert held in 1971 for the making of the musical documentary Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii In 1971 the group held a concert without an audience inside the Roman amphitheatre of Pompeii from which the documentary directed by Adrian Maben was made , distributed in cinemas the following year and then distributed on VHS in the eighties and DVD in the 2000s In 2025 the documentary was released in a new restored and remastered version and, for the first time, the soundtracks were released on a record album, restored and remixed by Steven Wilson, on CD-Audio and LP formats . Previously, the tracks from the documentary had been made available through unauthorised bootlegs and, partially, on the 2016 CD collection The Early Years 1965-1972
Pink Floyd secure a seventh Official Number 1 album with Pink Floyd at Pompeii – MCMLXXII this week in the UK Albums Chart Previously, Pink Floyd have topped the UK Albums Chart with Atom Heart Mother (1970), Wish You Were Here (1975), The Final Cut (1983), The Division Bell (1994), Pulse (Live) (1995) and The Endless River (2014) Pink Floyd at Pompeii – MCMLXXII also debuts atop the Official Vinyl Albums Chart, the most popular record on wax this week Floyd now lift on the list of acts with the most Number 1 albums in the UK, joining the likes of George Michael and Muse
