Lebanon is living in a sectarianism reproduction cycle, and the regime increases sectarian loyalties instead of weakening them. Leaders will still need to find external support to protect their share of power, and this share does not benefit the entire society, but to certain network within the category at the expense of all citizens of all sects, and at the expense of the higher and public interests.
As long as the regime remains relying on the principle of sectarian quotas, and until Taïf agreement is fully applied, association with external forces will remain a structural need, which will lead Lebanon to a permanent state of instability and lead constitutional institutions to a permanent state of paralysis.
Therefore, in order to avoid a fate that threatens its existence, Lebanon must stay away from external conflicts, especially the armed conflicts, by adopting the principle of positive neutrality.
Neutrality is no longer an option, but has become inevitable and a path towards the preservation of the homeland instead of sharing its parts with neighbors and brothers, the closest and the furthest ones.
